THinking about buying an XJ..question???

What exactly is "death wobble", how do you know if it has a YE what does it look like? How do you know what rear end it has?

Its got a 8.25 rear axle. From the pics, price, and it being sold by a dealer I think I would look elsewhere.Seems to have alot of "booty fab" done to it.

the 8.25 is marginal with 35's.
so is the D30 up front.
a D35 will break on the street with 35's.

Deathwobble is a violent shaking caused by an incorrectly setup or worn out front suspension. It's a problem for the XJ front suspension because of the trackbar and link geometry.

Seriously, go post up in the NAC chapter forum and see if one of those guys would be willing to check this thing out with you. It may even be a members old ride, or at least someone they knew. You might save yourself a ton of headaches in the long run.
