Sweating heater hoses.. anyone seen this?

All of the early XJ 242ci heater hoses are 5/8" ID except:
- Thermostat housing bypass - that's 3/4" ID
- Likewise the bottom hose going into the "football tank" in the back corner of the engine bay
- And I think one of the heater core bungs is also 5/8" ID.

What complicates this is that the other end of each of those hoses is 5/8" ID, which means you need a hose that "bells out" to make it happen. Or, you can make an "upsize adapter" by sweating a stub of 1/2" copper tube into a 1/2" copper tube union - the tubing itself has an OD of 5/8", and the union is not quite 3/4". Use some RTV black to assist the hoses in sealing, since you don't have a bead on the tubing...
