Sway Bar Maybe

So I've been fighting hooking my sway bar back up. With my front end set up the way it is, I can't just weld up some brackets and go. Because of room and custom bends I have 5/16 flat bar the fits perfect. Question is, can I get away with welding the flat bar to the spring shelf? I know the welds will hold, and the weak link to the system is the disconnect it self. It's not my DD, so it won't see to much mall action. Anyway thoughts???

That was in my plan, to add some plate to it. I'd work on it right now but we no power!!! Wind + trees= no juice
