i was told it means that it actually got to the DA's office, which means they had enough evidence to press charges. they would have questioned and released him if they didnt feel they had enough evidence to convict, it's a waste of time otherwise.

Pressing charges and convicting doesn't mean you'll get a dime though, blood/turnip.
