I posted this on facebook earlier. I've been up pike's peak and that looks tame on tape compared to what it looks like driving up the road. I couldn't imagine doing it at that speed!

One driver went by helicopter and another by ambulance. A broken leg was reported. There was a few crashes. It was a long day on the mountain.

Thought the same thing. Usually in motorsports the wild, long lasting crashes are much less painful that the insta-stop ones. Look at the Dale Ernheart crash that killed him. Compared to other NASCAR crashes it really didn't look that bad.
