this took place in Sweet water , CA also known as Agua dulce @ vasquez rocks. That slash is bad ass. never driven one but the electric ones are pretty fast and fun. Not bad for under 200 bux.

OH, those are some *SICK* rigs! Holy hell, some of them look so friggin' real! Impressed, boys -- very impressed! I run a nitro truck with a Lexus body on it -- go figure LOL! :)

i never owned a nitro RC cause of the hassle of tunning and gas and blah blah blah. I like to plug the battery in and go. :p

Plus i can play with my truck anywhere i want... inside the house sometime too :)

Squirrel...sorry but you know you want one! :firedevil
axial has the SCX trail rig for under $250 i cant remember if it includes the electronics but its not a bad start. Just find a decent body for it as the one that comes with the kit is grabage! Proline makes a Scale ish looking Lexan body. Or find a nice 1:10 scale body at toy's r Us from a new bright RC. they have Land rover LR3's, JK's, FJ's ( online ), Hummers etc etc..

they even make a XJ body but that thing is super expensive.

My next RC is inded going to be a crawler - I love 'em!

If you guys don't belong to an RC forum, I'm on http://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/ --- it's a GREAT community of R/C addicts who are very helpful and knowledgeable. There is also a for sale / trade portion of the forum where deals can be found! :)

Oh, it's free-fifty-free, too, unless you wanna donate :).

Lots of good info and good people!

Sweet pics!! I love those things....

Andy sent me this, and I am thinking, a bronco body, and I am set!

That's a different beast. Cool that they're doing an SC10 now, something to compete with the Traxxas Slash. Most the rigs in the pics were Axial AX10 based. It's amazing how far they've come. I had mine out at JV for KOH and broke a front driveshaft, have the parts to fix it but been fixing the real rig first. Yes, they get spendy, you can easily sink 500 bucks into one or more. Check out craigslist for used ones, that'll be where the deals are.

And Parma makes a Bronco body for a 1.10 scale.... I see a new R/C in the very near future....

I emailed proline and they said they're working on a licensing deal with Jeep, don't know if it will come through or not, but the XJ is on the list of bodies they want to do.

yeah but im pretty sure it will be an all lexan body. which is great but im hooked on the hard bodies now...:p

I flop my AX10 almost as much as Rick flops his junk, so I need a lexan body. :) Sad thing is my dad introduced me to RC when I was a kid, so my garage is full of planes and cars, plus one helo. Right now I'm finishing up a 36" combat wing so I can goof around with it in the desert. Here's one in action at glamis, I have all the electrics from over the years so it's gotten cheap to do a new model. http://www.combatwings.com/catalog/images/vid_015_glamis.asf

Question, have you tried brushless and lipo yet? :) If you're still on stock motors and stuff I've got a ton of junk I'm just going to give away, I'm converted. :)

Most the stuff I have is 27 turn "stock", a couple older LRP ESC's from RTR's. May be too much motor for a crawler. I'll toss them in the tool box and have them at JV.

coool! wait... when is JV? 27 turn stuff isnt too bad. should be able to build some stuff for my son.

thanks again.
