Off road lights as driving lights?

Dang, that Jeep is YELLOW.

XJRunner, just because your dad does it, doesn't make it right. Most states likely have laws on the books stating that an off-road, driving, or fog light is not a proper substitute for a headlight. Many states even disallow their use on the road period, even in conjunction with headlights, so I doubt that your dad's lack of ticketing has been due to any inherent legality.

Well according to him he said 55w was the max for a low beam so it sounds like he's in the legal. Who cares what brand they are?

Oh and those lights I posted for all we know that Orange Jeep could be running those Hellas. Some good info here for sure!

KC Daylighters are still considered either a fog or driving light, not a headlight. So, in a state where you aren't allowed to run fog/driving lights as headlights, he'd be illegal regardless of wattage. The orange Jeep is not running the Hellas you pointed out on 4wp. The ones you found are TJ headlights. They are not off road lights or driving lights, or fog lights. Driving lights are not head lights.
