New Exhuast from header to Cat, need help for 2000 XJ

Thanks for the pic.

Does anyone make an aftermarket blanket for the exhaust manifold to help reduce underhood temps?

No blankets. There isn't much room there for one. While it doesn't reduce underhood temps I used some gold adhesive heat shield on the bottom of the intake manifold. Also, there is a chance that the header could reduce heat soak as the header will retain heat for a shorter period of time vs the cast iron manifold. But im not 100% sure about that.

This might be common sense, but it's the precats that cause the high underhood temps and hard hot starts (heat soak/fuel atomization) on '00 and '01s, right?

I suppose you could use header wrap on either the stock manifold or aftermarket header to help a little.

Yes that's it. Header wrap usually causes more harm than good, yes it will help with temps but it will also rust out your exhaust faster too because it holds in moisture.
