Since this was amusing.....and whatever else you'd like to call it, I figured I would relate what happened at work yesterday.
I was tasked out to be my unit's range "NCO", so from roughly 6am till about quarter after 1 yesterday I was out being my unit's range "nco". I got our last guys off the range, went back to our battalion HQ, had some lunch, and then ran another errand across post.
Upon my arrival back to our HQ, I walk through the front door and start this other task of painting over the ink pots scattered through the main hallway area (someone thought it'd be funny to fling a broke ink pen everywhere, apparently), when a spouse of a deployed soldier came barging through the door and started yelling and screaming at our family readiness support advisor guy. She is being adamant bout speaking to our rear detachment commander, and is being increasingly rude and irate. Couple minutes later, lo and behold, who shows up but the MP's? She goes barging out the front door, 4 MP's in tow. Couple minutes later, she reenters our area in handcuffs and being flanked by an MP on each side, and placed into a squad car.
Her son and some friend of hers are now stranded at our unit...and being as i'm an NCO...guess what my next tasking is? I get to take these other 2 lovely pillars of our society back to a residence in Oak Grove thats not in the best part of town......and the MP's know that the woman in custody has been a former meth head....oh even more joyous.
So myself and another soldier escort the "friend" and the screaming 2 year old home, and haul back to BN.....a lovely interesting day in the life of a rear detachment soldier.
