i have a 1988 jeep xj with a blown motor and picked up a 1996 motor for it. i been reading cruisers guide but my problem is the powersteering pump.
if i use the renix intake and exhaust i have to use the renix power steering pump which will take the idler pulley away since its on the same bracket as the power steering pump. or can i use the 96 original intake and exhaust manifolds and just have a o2 sensor bung welded on the down pipe of the 96? to keep it all 96 long block.
 
You can do a renix/HO hybrid. nickintime has a film documenting it. If you keep the renix head it should be able to bolt to the 96 block fine just need to modify the exhaust manifold IIRC.
