I found a decent 4x4 92 on craigslist for about 300, but I realized that it'd be silly to take apart a good running vehicle just to get my non running working. So I'm going to start searching for a newer 97+ 4x4, and fix that up instead. I like the front end better, the taillights, and itd be a lot easier to do upgrades with in my opinion. I'll give my two door back to the junkyard, and get credit for it.

yeah the 92-95 would be better because in 96 they went to obd2 plus the gauges are PCI and work differently

Wrong, no XJ ever used PCI. WJs do, but all 91-01 XJs used CCD bus, very different. Only 97 up ones used it to drive the instrument cluster, but it's present on 91-96 as well.
