Hey there, I'm new to the forum but have been using it considerably in anticipation of buying an XJ.
My question is this:
I test drove a 89 XJ with a 5spd (trans model unknown) it is a 2 door with 4.0 and 3rd gear had a slight grind to it going in, the owner mentioned it was "normal" and has happened since he owned it.
The jeep is perfect for what I'm looking for (rocks in AZ) with lockers, gears and bumpers, I'm just hesitant to tackle the grind if it ends up being a significant cost.
My budget is about 8k total and this jeep is high 5k range, would this be a good rig to pursue or should I keep looking?
