I wanted to do this on my 8.25 (still might) but here in oregon the junk yards wont let you take just the backing plates, but they will sell you the whole rearend for 500$! i work at a jeep dealership so i looked up the parts. turns out you can buy the backing plate kit from the dealer for a little over 100$ per side and it includes the backing plates, ebrake shoes and assemblies. so all youd have to get would be rotors, calipers, and wheel studs. oh and the after market doesn't carry backing plates fyi.
