My experience has been this.

I have seen a rig on 36" IROKs survive on a d-30 front end, then break in a bad spot and end up in a rollover.

In the D30's defense, it was in a REALLY bad spot.

Heh. Ya think? ;)

Well that is a lil diffrent... not much but a lil.

Said I wanted a pink one... but WOW!

a bit too Barbie

and Hi everyone :)

OK....need to figure out what to do with Jennifer's XJ.

My understanding is that if we reduce tire size to 33's that she can do more with the thing than drive it down dirt roads with it's current D30/D35 with 4:10 gears combo.

If she wants to continue running the 35's we're gonna need to swap to a stronger rear axle (Ford 8.8 or D44??? Both are available to me for about the same price) and regear to numerically larger gears (lower).

I would appreciate everyone's thoughts, input and advice.

(She didn't like my idea of playing with it until we broke the D35. )

You are pretty much spot on.
advantages of 8.8 are disc brakes and stronger axles
advantages of d44 are it fits without modification, and no c-clips

She doesn't like the idea of Ford parts on her Jeep. :laugh3:

If you want to sell her on the 8.8, remind her that its the only part of Brandon's jeep he hasn't managed to break. Thats saying something, right there....
