How long did it take you to drill

With out some sort of oil, even wd40 if need be, it will take 300 lbs to get it done. THink about your drill press, are you pulling 300#s or even 50#s of force to go through a 1/4 inch plate. Oil the bit, keep it cool, it will cut better and last longer.

new 5/8 bit ( ~ $ 19 ) , Medeival snap on air drill ( with 150 psi of shop air ) , and 1 shot of pb blaster . went through it like it wasnt there . 3 minutes or less .
i didnt need to apply a whole lot of pressure , as the bit fed itself in quite nicely .

why is everyone paying so much for drill bits? My workplace furnaces all the bits i could ever want LOL When I drilled mine it took about 1 minute. Oil and sharp bit.
