Gauge cluster

I have an '87 XJ 4.0L. Several of the gauges are sticky and it has the cluster w/ the large fuel gauge and no tach. If I were to find a gauge cluster w/ a tachometer is all the wiring in place to power it(the tach) or would I have to run a tach wire. Also, would the wires for the large fuel gauge work on a small gauge.

I have considered aftermarket gauges but all the ones I've seen are too large to replace the stock ones in the stock location. Thanks for any help.

Yep, just plugs right in if you already have all the gauges but a tach. If you just have a speedo and a fuel gauge, then you'll need to replace the oil pressure and temperature senders to get the gauges to work. I used the cluster out of an '87 on my old '90, and the speedo cable plugged in just fine.
