Is it illegal to have say you're hella 500s on while driving on the street?

Anyone know the law in ohio.

I think the law in Ohio is that you can have four forward facing lights on while you are driving. So your two head lights plus two driving lights. There are also probably some kind of limitation on how the lights are aimed so that they aren't in the eyes of oncoming drivers.

Chris

EDIT: It's five lights not four.
"4513.17 Limit on number of lights.

(A) Whenever a motor vehicle equipped with headlights also is equipped with any auxiliary lights or spotlight or any other light on the front thereof projecting a beam of an intensity greater than three hundred candle power, not more than a total of five of any such lights on the front of a vehicle shall be lighted at any one time when the vehicle is upon a highway."

from http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/4513.17

It is a little unclear on weather or not the headlights count.

Awesome thanks!

Usually the DMV web site for your state will have the vehicle code available for download. In CA, you can have up to 4 forward-facing lights lit at a time, including headlights, as long as your aux lights are not mounted higher than the centerline of your headlights.

Yep. If you have overhead lights on while in traffic, you can usually bet you will get stopped, illegal or not. The grey area is if the vehicle came with them from the factory, like the Liberty Renegades.

In no State will they allow you to run lights mounted above the Grill on the hwy. Those are considered "Off-Road" lights. This includes factory equipped.

You may only run low beams if running 4 lights at a time.
In most States, Highbeams, even the 2 headlight systems count as 4 lights.

They made 4 lights legal when there was confusion regarding running Fog lights.

Fog lights get wired to the low beams.
Driving Lights get wired to the High Beams.

Be courteous when using either Fog or Drivng lights, even if your vehicle is factory equipped. If you get flashed, please dim to the lowest safe light setting.
