dash light

got a GEN on my dash that's lit.. what is this??

We could use a little more info on your XJ like year/motor etc. I would assume GEN stands for generator or alternator failure. The light would illuminate if your XJ is not producing the correct charge while running. Just my guess with the limited info.

X2 on the alt. pull it and take it to an auto parts store and they'll bench test it for you.
