Big Bear Camping

I am heading down to Big Bear next weekend and wanted to see where the good camping areas are. I need to be in town by 730 on Saturday, so preferably something reasonably close, but likely to be open. Any ideas?

It'll probably be hard to find camping unless you already have reservations, in which you wouldn't be asking...You're best hope from my understanding is to find a yellow post site, or hope someone is a no show...

Serrano is booked, might have to try for a yellow post. I will be up there this weekend for KOPL and ended up getting a motel 6...

Is there a listing of yellow post sites? I'm too used to the desert where there is plenty of camping (federal holidays excluded). I may start looking into hotels.

Last I heard, Serrano is booked through the end of the season. A friend of my mother in law's works up there.

Hanna Flat has availability if you want to stay in a campground.

x2 on Hanna Flat - there's almost always availability and it's a real nice, quiet place. About a mile of dirt road to get to it, but it's decent. That's where we go, and often.
