Cheap and ungly on my rig. I welded a piece of 1.5"x1.5" angle iron to the tie rod. Worked great for me. Did I say it was ugly? But it worked!

From what I have read, you will have the same results as someone that sleeves it. Instead of bending now, your TR will shear off at the TRE, or where ever the angle iron stops.SewerBoss said:
It sounds as though I need to upgrade to some 3/4 ton TREs, with a larger diamter shank, at the same time I do the TR. Sound correct, or missing something?
