Yes...but you can't really blame the tires when they're not all touching the ground, and don't forget the True Trac handicap :banghead:

I cursed that wretched diff about fifty times today. It is dead to me now.

I am not sure that a true trac is that usefull when your Jeep is on it's back :shhh:

I couldn't be happier with my TSL's so far. Although apparantly I WILL be keeping a spare in the back of the Jeep again, just incase Les Schwab doesn't always deliver to you on the trail :D

There was WAY too much excitement to go get a camera!!

And Jeremy proved that he is very capable of getting through difficult spots even with the true trac handicap :D

ahhh more like closet thinking....."turbo echo"
So you have a musclebound man in a spandex Gstring as an avatar with "I want a Matthicle" quote beside it. I'm the one in the closet?

It's time to let it go. You went after Matt, then "ragged on him," Then his posse buddies jumped in on his side, fine. For the record, I appreciate the unbiased side you took opposite the majority - unfortunately it's creepy and wierd now.

Sorry to drag this thread back up, and get it back on topic, but I noticed some interesting tire info while surfing tires on the intarwebz. I already stated earlier that I think Toyo Mt's are good PNW tires, but damn they're heavy. According to Toyo's website, the 35 x 13.5 15LT M/T weighs 84 freakin' pounds each. I have lifted them a few times and somehow avoided a hernia. So I looked at other brands that I was interested in, namely BF Goodrich and Interco, and all of their tires are listed with a substantialy lower weight. For instance, a 36 x 12.5 15 TSL(bias) Swamper weighs 64 lbs. A 20 pound differance between a TSL(I consider a stout tire) and a Toyo radial? That means I could shave 100 lbs. off my vehicle(including the spare) in unsprung weight. Hmmm....

Most of you guys probably already know this, but tire weight does effect the performance of your vehicle. Braking and accelleration is greatly effected by the rotational mass of tires. And obviously a Bias TSL is going to ride like crap on the road compared to a radial, so lets look at BF Goodrich tires. The 35" Krawler is listed @ 74 lbs. each. So I could get a highly rated tire and still shave 50 lbs total off my vehicle. For another referance, The 35" BFG M/T is listed at 64 pounds each.

Just an observation, and maybe something we should consider when shopping for tires.:passgas:

Good points there Jeremy. Ive been looking at weights of different tires latley, mainly larger size Iroks or TSL's, for future plans. A 42" TSL is 102#, which is heavy, but for a tire that size, im sure the gearing can make up for the rotational weight. Interco tires aren't as heavy as most put them out to be, but they are heavier than most, if that makes sence.
