The picture shows silver, but it comes powder coated black.
The screen bug guard is, as far as I can tell, just window screen material (the plastic/fiberglass sort) and provides a bit of a cushion for the aluminum guard. Geno's offers three different versions for three different generations. Figure out the needed dimensions for the XJ and then see if one of the three might be readily modified to fit. Thickness of the condenser would be the most important factor as the primary attachment is holding on from the top by means of a formed U-channel.
