I just went to remove the HB on my '91 Briarwood, and I ran into a problem with the puller I bought at the parts store. (they didn't have any I could rent, so I bought one)
The puller came with three sets of bolts to thread into the balancer, a 3/8", 5/16", and a set of metric bolts. I had my new balancer handy, a Mopar replacement part, and used that to determine I would need the 5/16" bolts. I went to thread it into the one on the Jeep, and the bolt didn't fit, in fact none of the bolts that came with the puller will fit into the balancer.
Does anyone know what the proper bolt is to thread into the balancer on a '91? My FSM is pretty useless on this case, as it has a total of 5 lines on how to remove the damper, and searching for the tool specified didn't return any results.
Searching on here came up with no results, just the typical "how do i get the engine to stop turning when I try to loosen the bolt." Google brought me to a thread on Jeepforum where someone encountered the same problem, but the only reply was utterly useless as it says "I got my puller from so and so and it worked fine."
Thanks.
