So I've got an 8.8 that I'm gonna be installing in about 2 weeks and would like to do the Iron Rock hack and tap at the same time so that the perches can be welded on at the correct angles. I've looked at a bunch of threads about the 8.8 swap and also about the h&t install but have yet to find one about doing them both at the same time. I'm thinking that I should install the axle first, with the pinion pointed at the tcase and then use that as my basis for measuring for where to cut the output shaft. Does this seem right? I called Iron Rock the other night and to be quite honest I'm even more confused now than before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
By the way I'm running an 88, AW4, 242 with about 3.5-4" lift and 33s.
