Stuck fsj. It was a great day, even though we broke both our jeeps, mine before we even made it to the snow. At least the wj was an easy fix, and will be getting a psc 4.5" pulley upgrade because the plastic one is crap.
 
Looks so fun, I wish I went man. So thats all by cherry lake? man im jelly. looks super fresh, super deep, super wide and no one around. Man that must have been fun...
 
Saw 1 other vehicle all day, an f150 with chains on all 4 stopped right before the deep stuff coming in from toulumne side. Was mobbing through the 4' deep stuff in the wj when we came around the corner and they were out playing in the middle of the road. Led to 3 stuck jeeps and the steering pulley blowing up because we had to stop in the middle of it.
 
you need to flat tow the AW4 in P. go N, turn key, then D, then P. then you are good. probably need a aw4 and a rebuild for the 231.

next time pull both DS to be safe.
 
personally, Id change both fluids and see if that helps at all first, but at this point, you might be on borrowed time for either the aw4 or 231 or both if they still work.
 
From all the research I've been doing today, tcase should be ok, it was in high range and the hubs were out, so effectively 2wd. The pump was still being driven in it. I'll drain the fluid, as it may have got a little hot from the tranny being hot. Now to find a cheap aw4 from the renix era.

Look what followed me home to donate its transmission to my jeep. The 33x12.50x15 km2's are about 90% and the wheels are pretty nice. I'll post them up in the for sale section tomorrow. Rest of the jeep will be parted out, it's an 89 so let me know if you guys need anything.
 
No tcase skid. Doors and rear hatch to my father-in-law, tires and wheels sold. Hope to get the tranny out and swapped into my jeep this weekend. Front axle is a non disco hp30 complete for $100? I'll keep it a few weeks and whatever's left goes to the junk yard.
 
I'd be interested in the 242 w/ HnT, not sure when I'd get out your way tho. Driveshafts?
How many miles on the heep? Engine run? Good?
Steering column? seats manual/power, frames good? Would only need fronts. Tailights intact?
harness side connector/some wire of the cam/sync sensor that goes to the dizzy. Possibly dizzy as well.
Probably more on the list too.
 
Rammin97 was first in line for the 242, if he doesn't take it its yours. I'm keeping the shafts for spares, engine has 314,000 but seems to run good. You could have it. Tranny and tcase were swapped in less than 10k ago, not sure what they came out of. Passenger tailight intact. Seats are power leather seats, torn but frames in great shape. Wire, connectors, dizzy are all there.
 
I dont need the T-Case since i am running a 231. I will pass on the Tank skid too. I dont have time to get out your way to pull it. Thanks Tho:us:
