I'd like to sell all this as a package, but in a few weeks I may decide to sell indiv parts. Please NO calling "Dibs On ___" before I say "Parts F/S"


1988 XJ Limited 4 door, 4.0 Renix/AW4 Colorado Red + Gray interior. 265,000 miles.

Motor is reliable, but getting tired. Has good oil pressure. I’ve replaced the injectors, fuel line QDs, and fuel pressure regulator. Has Rusty’s air tube, K&N, recent CCV hose harness, MORE rubber block mounts, OEM rubber trans mount. Needs a CPS & connector (it’s SORR now) 1 yr old red-top Optima, upgraded cables. Seems like I put an alternator on it too, CRS…
AW4 was supposedly rebuilt just before we bought it at 185k…always has shifted well for me, I added a remote filter (uses “ford V8” spin on) and a (big) 24k GVW cooler in 2004(?)
I replaced the radiator to an open system (no ATF goes through it) I used OEM hoses & T-stat. OEM balancer pulley, and aftermarket idler pulley, belt, heater valve, & fan clutch.

The Bad:
NP242 works in all modes, but balks coming back out of 4WD sometimes.
Needs shims on rear axle and/or SYE badly. It has a bad vibe in the RR corner…
Handbrake is INOP (driveshaft bailed at the uphill side and had a fight with the underside linkage)
Interior is NASTY. It has a factory sunroof, that has leaked at least since ’03 when I got it. Replaced front leather to 89XJ cloth ‘rocking chairs’. Back leather seat bottom is either decent or MIA. Backrest needs cleaned up. Headliner is gone but the board is good IIRC. No radio. Good heat/defog, AC INOP. All glass is intact, front doors have wind-up window cranks. Body has trail rash and the floors may be ugly from the wet carpet... Hatch is three bumps from going AWOL. (hatch glass is good and defogged IIRC + recent struts) Front axle LCA mounts are beaten ugly.

It has installed presently:
OEM XJ leafs + 3” full-length AAL & one extra second leaf & MJ shackles.
3” Rusty’s coils + 2 OEM spacers
JKS BPE lower front & upper rear shock mounts
“white brand” gas charged shox that work for 2-4”
Currie “JeepSpeed” LCAs (Johnny Joints @ both ends) fixed 16.5” IIRC
RE “superflex” adjustable UCAs
OEM ‘limited’ 24mm swaybar with greasable polyurethane bushing mounts
JKS Quicker Disconnects 2-4”
Kevinz adjustable track bar & HD bracket
NAPA YJ front brake hoses
Rusty’s cross member
Rusty’s 242 transfer case skid plate
(5) American Racing Outlaw II 15 x 7- 3.75” BS (2) low-mile 30x 9.50 MT (cooper STT & Kuhmo) 3 pretty spent Cooper STT.
D44 XJ rear, 3.55:1 Track-Lok, recent brakes/cylinders, u-bolt yoke, NAPA Dakota hose, needs cover.

Items not installed (used unless says NIB)
JCR OTK steering + raised track bar bracket & extended swaybar mounts
Yukon D44 4.56:1 R & P, master install kit, open (empty) carrier. All NIB.
Yukon D30 master install kit, open (empty) carrier, u-bolt yoke. All NIB.
Spicer D30R 4.56:1 R & P, 17k mostly street miles.
Used D30 EZ locker with new pins & springs.
Advance Adapters 231 HD SYE kit NIB.
21 spline NP 231 + gray (87-96) console bezel, 110k approx, replaced chain @ 100k.
Rusty’s engine/trans skid plate (new but 10 yrs old, less hardware)
1.75” polyurethane coil spacers
HPD30 non disco, spare, (3.55 IIRC junk insides hubs/stubs) Year outer knuckles unknown.

Consider it as a package deal… PM a reasonable offer if at all interested. After a few weeks I may decide to part it out. Moore County NC (27325)





 
your selling "the" jeep? i remember meeting you and this jeep in 05 and watching it walk all over tellico... hell i think ive still got pictures of it going up slickrock on 30's! damn good times woody.....
 
Yep it's gotta go... I have a new focus, and a short-arm XJ isn't it.

More Bad: Just remembered...for some reason the driver's door wont unlock or open (latch rod or lock messed up?) Probably just disco'd inside but :dunno:

First $2000 gets it.
