'01 XJ 2WD, 5.3L 4L60E Build

Nevermind. It seems this is a fuel pulsation damper.

That very same thing has screwed me up, too.

So, having returnless rails, you going to run a C5 filter / regulator setup or what do you have planned there?
 
Exhaust decision time: mild steel, aluminized or 409SS

I'm really leaning towards either mild steel fully painted on the outside or 409SS. Aluminized steel seems no good because the welds will rust first anyway.

The only hold-up I have with 409 is my hesitation about getting the welds correct. a 409 system would be about 40% more expensive than a mild steel system.

Does anyone have experience with a painted mild steel exhaust?
 
I haven't seen a wide enough pic of your engine bay to tell, but you may be able to fit your battery where I put mine:

I had to modify the hard AC line at the condenser tube thingy.

Sweet build, love those V8 XJs!
 
Back on it. Getting exhaust work done. 2-1/4" 409 SS off each side into a 2-in-1-out cat.
