Does anybody know if the blank panel, (where the clock goes on non poverty spec,) is the same on pre face-lift dashes between rhd and lhd? I cut mine for my oil pressure gauge and want to put oil pressure and water temperature gauges there, so I need to find another one.
Are there any particular speakers that will hold up better to rough service? I've tried a few different sets and the headliner one blow out quickly, door ones don't seem to last long either. High dust/ vibrations service in my mail jeep.
Today my 242 quit driving the front wheels when in reverse. Yes it was in 4wd mode not awd, the light was even still lit. The last few days it had been making a groan when reversing in 4wd, but I figured it was the tranny. The chain is not slipping, I know what that sounds like. I've never had a...
How do you properly adjust the shift linkage? I've only been able to get it in 4 low a handful of times since I've owned it, all other modes work fine.
I've asked about rebuilding a steering box before and it seems to be beyond my comfort zone but what about replacing the out put shaft bearings? It that something that can be done in vehicle without too much trouble? I noticed a clunk when coming off center yesterday and found a lot of side...
FYI, there is a 99 with some sort of crazy steering box brace set up at the winner road pnp in kansas city if you need something like that. Looks expensive
Is there any remedy for a worn out slip joint on the front driveshaft short of replacing the whole thing? I've got two that have considerable slop in them and xjs are getting super scarce in the junkyards. Also I'm pretty much perpetually broke.
As many know my d35 abs rear end is on its way out after only 338 thousand miles. I have been scouting for a couple of months and have came up short until today. I went to pick n pull, (which is a long drive for me,) for a bunch of grand am parts and lo and behold, out of only 2 xjs, one had a...
Just letting everyone know there is a green 1995 xj jeep in the new 2022 hot wheels series. Guess who drives a green 95 cherokee and has a new hot wheels? This guy!
Has any one tried tapping that flat spot on the tstat housing for the probe on a mechanical temperature gauge? Better yet is anyone selling a new housing with bung already in it? The material is very thin so I'm not sure the stock housing can take it. Even though that heater stream is the...
First thing in the morning my 95 dosent want to shift into 2nd for probably a half mile, once it shifts it goes through the rest of the gears just fine and all gears fine for the rest of the day. It did this most of the winter and stopped when it got warm. About a week after I changed the fluid...
At least I think it's heat related it's the first real warm day on the mail route this year and twice so far Luigi has just died on me as I pull up to a box. The fuel pump will run prime and it will crank just fine but won't even sputter until I let it cool for about 5 minutes, then it will...
I never thought I'd have trouble finding an interior door handle for my 95, but it seems to be discontinued, the big three parts stores can't get one and I can't find it in Amazon or rock auto. The local junkyard closed and no one seems to be parting one out near me. Any ideas, part numbers, or...
We all know that t cases generally are not super picky on fluid and some zj cases use hydraulic fluid, would it be okay in my 242? It leaks quite a bit after I put in some of the +4 fluid and I have 3 gallons of tractor fluid kicking around that I'll never have a use for.
All the power window repair guides I can find are for 97 plus. My rear windows have not worked since I got it, i jump the motors and they both work, and I've tried jumping wires at the master switch but never got them to work. The fact that is rhd makes it worse, the wire colors seem to be...
Well it's time for a fuel pump on my 95, it didn't start, hit the tank with a hammer, fired right up. I've seen many threads about bad quality pumps, what's a good brand currently? My gauge works perfectly so I don't want replace the whole sending unit, just the pump will be fine.
