headlights Sylvania Silver Star XV or ST?

FWIW, I replaced the Sylvania halogens (that were installed in June of '06) in my '99 XJ with XV SilverStars around Halloween '06 after one of the halogens burned out. Be sure and read the part where I replaced almost-new Sylvania halogen bulbs with Sylvania SilverStars. I bought them instead of...

    oil filter adapter

Ditto. I would drill out the pin in the block. If you need to use a larger drillbit, then go ahead and drill out the adapter, too. Unless someone knows of a reason not to enlarge the hole a little. Just make sure you have a corresponding sized roll pin available. -Rich

    Block Heater Installation

I put the freeze plug type in my '99 in December last year. I only used it a handful of times so far, but it worked like a charm every time. Just remember, heating your coolant doesn't do anything for anything else (oil, gear oil, trans, etc). This topic's been mentioned a lot, so I'll let it...

    colorado springs guys

Don't know about the CO trail program, but a CB on 9 will get some attention. Not saying that to be a dick, either. Most government bodies tune in, especially in or around parks and cities. If not, then get as much info as possible and report them to a ranger or whichever governing body patrols...

    5/4 point harnesses recommendations

I've even seen some 6 points out there. But yeah, go with 5 (or better). 4 points let you submarine way too eaily. Before shoulder belts, lap belts in the late 60's started paying a lot more attention to the anti-sub principle. I know loads of people running the RCI's without a problem...

    low pinion or high pinion?

Ummm...yes. Just out of curiosity, how much does one weigh? I know what my 4 door 4WD XJ weighs, stock( my '99 4d 4WD is 3386). But I never though that with all that extra metal and crap, it would be lighter than a YJ. I learned something today! -Rich Huh, I used to have a '94 Wrangler 4WD...

    c8.25 question

The couple Dakotas I have seen are spring under. If you're a welder, your local Mopar dealer sells brand new spring perches for a decent price...something like $15 or $20. Check Yucca Man's page for a good pic of the 8.25. The axle tube should be exactly 3" in diameter if it is the 8.25...
