    Rufus is sick!

Hey guys, I need help. Old Rufus, my 1996 Cherokee Country is pushing 226000 miles. I am pretty sure i have an exhaust leak, and need to change am O2 sensor and a ball joint. Other than that he has been trouble free for 100000 miles. Now i am noticing a sound i don't recall hearing, i was...

Engine turns over, but won't start.

X2 on the coil...mine has gone 3 times in 3 years due O'Reilly's crap coils.

    Fixing a ghettofab leafed XJ...

I guess cheap is going to depend on how hacked up the underside of the jeep is. The axle, coils, and arms could be had for $150-200 I'm sure. I lifted mine out of junkyard parts for less than $100, so cheap is doable if you're willing to scavenge.

    Fixing a ghettofab leafed XJ...

Go back to coils, there is no way that is safe. I run t-bird front coils and fit 33's just fine.

    Odd gas saving mod...

So i guess if you put more in you would do even better right? So by extension, if you chained it to your house, it would be like a Prius? ;) Actually, it probably took a couple of hundred miles for the ECM to have enough information from you O2 sensor to help things, up until then the old...

Let's play "What's that Awful Sound?"

Is your rig lifted? That sounds like my jeep, which is lifted and in desparate need of a SYE...I would check driveline angles (if lifted) and u-joints.:eyes:

Lower Control Arms for my Jeep

Yeah i was looking at those, 191.50 shipped is hard to pass up. I was thinking, of using shims to correct caster and shift the axle forward, and using WJ LCA's but I am probably just better served by getting adjustable lowers... On the Iron man Offroad parts, is the angled section to help with...

Lower Control Arms for my Jeep

I lifted my jeep a couple of weeks ago and have been running around with my alignment done half-assed (i.e. I have my toe-in done but have not made adjustments to my caster. This is the first time I have done my own alignment and aside from a little wobble, I think I did ok. Having said that...

    S10 Bastard Pack

I used the whole 3 spring s-10 pack with the XJ main in the rear with the Thunderbird coils up front and ended up with 4.5 inches of lift. On Road it rides stiffer than the original suspension but not so bad as to be uncomfortable. It actually handles like like a sports car in that the jeep...

    Will i clear 33's with.....

I have 33 12.5's with stock wheels and 1.25 spacers and I rub some. Of course your tires will be 2 inches skinnier than mine but that basically will cancel out my spacers, bottom line is you probably will rub but you should be able to live with it for $50

wk grand cherokee seats in an xj

I know that wj , zj, and tj seats will fit by swapping brackets, but I was wondering what about wk seatfrom a newer Grand Cherokee? I am on my way to the junkyard to get some measurements but was curious if anyone had tried this before? I searched google and naxja and found little info about...

A different kind of tire carrier...

I tend to agree with the other posters but you might be able to create a rack that hinges similarly to the hatch and locking onto the bumper, the hardest part would be mounting lift shocks to keep the weight off the hatch. Aftermarket bumper?

    Intake/throttle body swap?

From what I've seen with a basically stock setup, you should be fine as even stock the fuel rail can supply plenty until you install a stroker or a turbo or something similar. What are you doing with the original 98 intake? I have a 96 that I am looking for a 97+ intake for.

Bastard pack builders: What did you use and how much lift did you get?

I just did mine, last week using a full s10 pack, and cutting the eyes off and reusing the main xj leaf. I got about 4.5" over stock, condition wise I would say, they were fair, there was some rust, and the bolts were froze up. I just used a wirewheel to knock the rust off and greased everything...

    Exhaust, welded or clamped?

I was always told that if you clamped it right, you would have to cut it off anyway, that said you may as well get it welded.

    Stupid Question

What is required to run E85? I know ethanol can eat up the Buna-N o-rings, and the hoses, but apart from that I can't think of what else I would need. Has anyone else tried this? I know there will be a performance hit but for around the town driving, it might be okay

    new car time......

Stupid question, but why don't you get another xj, just for street use? That way, you don't have to learn another architecture, all fluids and most parts are interchangable. Maybe I am just lazy...
