I've been in VA for nearly my whole life and am looking at moving out to the denver/colorado springs area by next summer. I'm hoping that some of y'all might have some suggestions as to where I/the lady could look for jobs in the area. She and I are both interested in non-profit work and have...

Harley Davidson mirrors in a YJ?

turns out you can use pretty much anything. The long harley mirrors seem to fit the best though and can get 'em at the local dealer for ~20 bucks

Harley Davidson mirrors in a YJ?

I had heard something about using Harley mirrors for YJ/TJ when you take the doors off. Anyone know about what years might work/know anything about it? Also, haven't seen anything about mirrors that would fit in the door slots, but do they exist? (i've done the usual searches for what i knew...

    XJ metal fender flairs, anyone?

ok wow:confused1 :confused1 those were pretty much the flares I've been looking for and someone finally up and made 'em. As you mentioned though...I wonder how hard it would be to put on TJ flat fenders to an XJ? Never thought it was possible before, but maybe?

    rock rail tech

dang....props to you Pete M- those are some sweet looking rails! I don't know much about them on the whole, but is there any chance that you might do some frame damage by really coming down on the rails? I'd imagine the frame would be strong enough, but I've never seen a design like yours...

    5.0L in '89 auto

got the lift covered (3.5" RE). I just need to start figuring out where I can get a a v8 drivetrain from. Anyone know which vehicles I can look to for the engine and tranny? I'm looking at either the TH400 or the TH700R4. Looks like those two are the best fit for a 4x4 daily driver, auto

    5.0L in '89 auto

no trail only rig here...DD all the way. At this point, I use it for some light wheeling around the George Washington National Forrest and since I live near Crozet, I'm hoping to get into going over there as well. Other than that, I usually spend time driving to ski, hike, etc. so a good bit...

small block vs. big block, long block vs. short block

Short block = don't replace headers, doesn't come with anything attached long block= headers replaced, doesn't come with anything attached small block= ? big block= ? crate motor= everything you need in one box? tried a search, but came up empty. I guess I'm trying to figure out what comes...

    5.0L in '89 auto

Anyone out there make an adapter to mate a 5.0L Mustang to an aw4 tranny (mine's an '89 auto with a recently replaced tranny)? I'm getting a rebuilt engine and since I have to spend the money (keeping in mind, I'm hoping not to go much over 1500) I figured I would at least explore my options...

    engine differences/reliability

that's a good idea right there...hadn't thought about it. Only question is whether they have a core charge (which, since it's advanced auto, I'm assuming they do). Depending on how much it is, it still might be worth it though. thanks again for the advice! You guys have been lifesavers as...

    engine differences/reliability

unfortunately, i've got huge blowby problems (spits quite a bit of oil through the air filter), so I'm thinking it might be a good idea to just go with a reman. It's a bummer though, because it'd be nice to have the stroker, just more money than i probably need to spend right now. at this...

    engine differences/reliability

any thoughts on rebuild vs. buying a remanufactured from advanced auto? I can get one for around 820 out here in VA, but I'm not sure how much it would cost for the rebuild...didn't know what was involved to look up! :rattle:
