Just pickedup a 2000 p71 Crown vic police interceptor But it has Massive amounts of play in the rear axle (in and out) i can push and pull the wheel about quarter of an inch in and out. I pulled the diff cover off and pulled the axle shaft out it uses the c-clips to hold the shaft in and i know...
it kinda sucked at the time because i was at my work with the jeep on the lift when broke the shaft, i didnt have a way to go pick up the parts. I had to have advanced auto deliver (they were the only ones that would on saturday) I called around but no one had such parts instock and i needed the...
my axle shaft was cracked where the u joint goes in, ended up braking when i used a press to push out the bad u-joint.
the guy at the auto place said the u-joint has been replaced with cv-joints for all jeeps with solid axles. ( got it from advanced auto) every other auto place i went to doesnt...
i had t0 replace my axle shaft today and no one carries them with the U-joint on them any more so i had to buy a CV joint for it instead. Putting it on was a breeze and it only cost 40$ but are they not as strong as a u joint?
ill toss some pics up in the next few days the girlfreind has the jeep right now and ive been busy working on my Trans am .... such a money pit. anways its nothing spectactular at the moment its just temporary till i can make somthing a bit better. and its actually made out of a old mastercard...
i would have been happier if it was less rounded but pretty stoked on the looks. i cut 2 holes under it and rigged somthing up to stop water from hitting the engine for now, i just need to do some routing or moving of the filter.
I was actually flagged down by another xj driver the other day...
i was kinda thinking of that but the filter didnt fit there. i have a cone filter already on it. maybe after a few differnt modifications i could get that idea to work though. i figure i can just cut the holes in there for now and figure out the air routing later. ive been pretty sick the past...
i had an idea to cut two holes in the hood one will use to vent out hot air and the other will route air twards the intake, not like ram air but it will bring cold air to the filter. i still need to find some sort of ducting or make somthing that will work. some how fit it under the hood too. I...
well its all mounted up heres a few shots, still need to finish up the holes in the hood for venting and intake but i dont have my tools at my house and they are all at work... and i called in sick today lol
i have the 40 and on mine when i hit about 2k rpm to 2.5k its just hums really loud and you get alot of that feedback into the cab other then that it has a great idling sound and when i give it you cant even tell its a inline 6.
SORRY! thinking can get overcomplicated especially when it turns into an idea.
i have no idea what i should do with my water situation but just a pan that deflects water from the engine cant be any worse then having soupy mud hit your fan and cover every thing imaginable.
went to work and picked it up, paint came out amazing. No cracks in the fiberglass this time! Ill still need to wet sand then pull out the buffer, unfortunatly the jeep isnt as shiny (tree branches just destroyed my paint last summer when i took it to some trails) heres a pic its got some...
since i am cutting the hood i have to do a drip tray that will catch and drain the water, that will also route air to the air filter. I am not gunna seal it off to the airbox though so it will also vent hot air out.
as i was wet sanding it i found a crack so i had to repair it and repaint it...
