    sorry really stupid ?s

i was very disappointed in the napa lines. Run your own. Use brake line and small pieces of rubber vacuum lines to fit it together. I did the napa replacement and ended up reglueing much of it, struggling with it fitting properly, and ultimately tearing it out AGAIN to replace it on my own.

    88 fuel gauge issue

Gauge stops working at 1/4 tank. Talked to a guy around here (he picked me up on side of highway, gave me a ride to the gas station and let me use his gas can) said he used to have an xj with the same problem. Bent float, bad sending unit, grounds, did i buy this guys old heep, or has someone...

    Balljoints, any easy way?

Just did mine today using harbor freight ball joint press. Worked great, people say they bend . . . don't know what that is about. Made sure it was straight and when there was tension i would whack the side of the knuckle with a hand sledge and they popped right out.

    extending oxygen sensor wires?

you can get a lot of extra slack by removing the O2 sensor wires from the harness, tape it back up and run it where you need. No splicing, no extra connection. Simple is best.

    new balljoints

I called all the shops . . . most people don't know what i'm talking about and they DEFINATELY don't let anyone borrow tools. I fix one thing on this rig and get problems from 5 others :banghead: Plus every fix requires me to fab something, or buy a special tool, very frustrating.

    new balljoints

My split ring seat is rusted in real bad but the inside surface area is clean enough to reuse. Anyone leave this in without trouble or should i get it out and replace it. Very difficult to come by all these special tools around here and i'm regreting ever getting into this 'jeep thing'.

    88 Removing front axle shaft

Thanks for the info. Soaked with penatrating oil overnight and went back with a bigger hammer. Used the bolts half threaded and an old socket and wailed on it. The guy in the above write up says "gently tap" HA! Ordered the harbor freight ball joint press (after local parts stores telling me...

Upgrading steering box to durango box and was going to plate and sleeve the frame while i was there. My 88 cherokee seems to already have sleeves through the 'frame' rail? Are you guys drilling these out and replacing them w/thicker sleeves? Maybe they're not sleeves at all, i'll get a closer...

    Pranks....

Bags of crickets can be had for cheap from pet stores . . . released about 3 lbs of them in the chem lab in high school. The chirpping drove the teacher nuts. Upper deck the toilet (shit in the top fill tank) at a party where the resident party thrower is an absolute a-hole, if you got...

    broken belt adjuster

Anyone ever find one of these or make their own? Thinking of taking a stack of washers and welding a nut to the bottom. Can't seem to keep my belt tight without it. As soon as the belt loosens a little bit it rubs the t-stat housing. Any info appreciated. Ryan
