    Caster Question

negative caster gives the "shopping cart" steering where it's squirrely, easy to turn, but doesn't want to return to center. positive (too much) caster will make it harder to turn, wants to stay on center. as bubba pointed out, you introduced negative caster when you pointed the pinion upward...

my 2001 XJ has the 16" wheels and as cool as they look i'd rather run 15" wheels/tires. does anyone know if there's any reason why i can't use 15" rims? brake calipers or such? TIA.

crazy price to fix my AC

local jeep shop wants $1000 to replace my leaking evaporator. seems crazy, i know they have to pull the entire dash and the air bag and all, but $1000? i like my cherokee and know finding another 2001 limited laid out this way would be pretty tough. should i just bite the bullet and go for it...

"aren't you likley to find Brown ice" bet it was "brown ice" as they started to spin toward the edge!! wonder if the white cushion helped as opposed to just landing on "soft rocks"? okay, so now i'll sell my XJ and buy a minivan............not! although black ice did destroy my last XJ.

    Illegal People In America

just got this email, kind of says it all: Dear President Bush: I'm about to plan a little trip with my family and extended family, and I would like to ask you to assist me. I'm going to walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and I need to make a few arrangements. I know you can help...

    Illegal People In America

drew carey was on a talk show and said he was amazed to be at a soccer game in mexico city and everyone stood up and chanted "osama". illegal is illegal. how fair is it to the people who go thru the channels to come in? there was a girl on a radio program who came from a southeast asian island...

    best header and exhaust setup

ghetto2315, did you run a cat or eliminate? the one on my 2001 looks huge compared to what was on my 87. i'm not sure i want to jump into a header right now (yours sounds awesome), but am thinking about a hi-flow cat and cat back system.

    Running hot

my 87 always ran hot, real hot when wheeling. the guys i wheel with who drive XJs say theirs run hot too. seems like they were designed that way to me. mine would get hot enough to "tan" your hand if you leaned on the hood after wheeling. good place to cook dinner when camping. haven't had the...
