Ok sorry to bring up and old post, but just showing i searched.
I was messing around with the XJ, and I cannot get iy to shift into N or 4lo. I can get it in part time and full time but when i try to pull back on the lever to get it in N or 4lo it wont budge.
any clue?
thanks
Fellas,
What are your thoghts on this guy for a DD? I will keep my XJ for play time. I currently have a Ford Ranger and get about 17-18mpg. I am thinking of getting a new/used DD. I want better mileage and do not want a car. So far I am considering the Liberty CRD or the Subaru Forester...
hey i just bought my XJ and have joined up with NOVA Jeepers www.novajeepers.com they seem pretty cool adn knowledgeable, do a lot of rides too.
if you havent put on the kit yet, give me a holler, i can lend a hand
I gotcha, but I am a newb, not here long enough to be allowed to post stupid shit on purpose...
I am soooo new to Jeeps so I am just trying to learn everyhtign I can adn build my XJ on a budget, but not make a POS either.
It is the 3.0 motor and i have run 33s, but mostly 32s. I am not scrapping the ranger, but not wheeling it anymore and thought why keep a locker in an axle not used offroad.
Good point about width, I will measure that and see. I was jsut concerned about fit and if a Ford 7.5 is...
well i am asking the question arent i? I am runnign 33s with the axle now with no problems.
All I hear on Jeep boards is how bad thd 35 is! So I thought I would ask since it is already locked adn has 4.10s.
Instead of a smart ass remark, why not respond with your reasoning not to. I am not...
That was my initial thought to just redo the whole floor in diamond plate and then line it with bedliner, but i was told in a previous post that heat would be an issue. SO then I thought of teh vinyl floor route with the firewall padding underneath...jsut liek a work truck with no carpet.
ok so I am taking my Ranger back to stock so I can build the Jeep.
The Ranger has a 7.5 rear axle with a detroit locker and 4.10s
How hard would it be to swap it in to my XJ? would this just be a bad idea? not worth it?
any thoughts please!
i was thinking of going OEM, but since it is a small area I will prolly just patch it
but now the heat issue is gonna bug me, b/c i dont want to run carpet, so maybe just black vinyl but wont I need that firewall pad stuff??
