OK I a 98 classic with the factory fogs. About 2 years ago I bought a set of auto pal headlights and a upgraded wiring harness. 100% improvement, but I had a issue where the bright light indicator was kinda lit and when I turned my brights on I had to shut off the lights all together to get them...
had the same issue but also had bad u-joints as well. Did both hubs in about 2 hrs (taking my time). Bad hub will sound like gravel like if the u-joints are bad they will squeak when turning.
If price is a issue go with a harness first even with the stock lights you will see a huge improvment.
I bought this one.

OK got this morning to do a oil change and t-case fluid change. went to open the fill plug on the t-case and it is frozen solid. soaked it in pb blaster and tapped on it with a hammer and it will not break loose. Its a 3/8 allen plug that is pretty chewed up so I don't want to make it worse...
checked the relay and the tab i bent over was the correct one I just went with the jumper route and all is well. just need to make sure I turn the fogs off when I get out at night.
I have the eautoworks harness. It plugs into the pass side light the drivers side it not plugged into anything its tapped up. THe fogs turn off when the brights come on.I will have to pull it apart when I have a change then an look it over. will take pics as well.
my harness plugs into the pass side ( you may have meant that) if that is the case I wonder if I extended the harness to plug into the driver side if it would solve the problem.
Ivan do you have a pic of the jumper wire you used? Just so I know I'm on the same page. I am a visual person its easier for me to process it if I can see it.
Sorry to revive a old thread but I picked up the eAutoworks harness as well everything was there and was easy to hook up but I have run into one small issue. If I turn my brights on they will not turn off unless I turn the lights off completely. I have double checked my grounds swapped and...
