From personal experience, the TC skid is better than nothing, but I'd ditch it and get a good aftermarket one, unless you only wheel on mild trails with few rocks. As for the front skid, mine has been reinforced with 1"x1"x1/8" angle welded on horizontally, but I wish that I had also reinforced...

Give it a few more years... I don't think theres ANY part of the interior of my '92 that doesn't rattle or squeek...whether there's music playing or not! Just something to look forward to :shiver:

Got 33x12.5 SSR's... Rusty's 4 1/2" with significant trimming. Still need a little more bump stop a little rubbing is on the inner part of the front fenders.

90 ft/lbs.

I still need to put a good floor on it and will probably use expanded metal tacked into place.

Mine does the same thing. The info that I have from researching the problem is that the o-rings on the ARB are worn. I have read experiences of some who have continued to use theirs in this condition for some time with no ill effects. For now, I think I'm just going to rig up some way to capture...

An aussie locker in the rear won't be so bad for a DD. I have a lockright in mine and if you stay off the gas when turning, you probably won't even notice it except for the clicking. Otherwise, just rotate your tires often and you'll be fine.

Hmmm. Based on these numbers, the D35 shafts should be stronger than the 27spline 8.25. Bummer. I realize that the axle tubes are bigger in the 8.25 which will make the overall axle assembly more stout. I'm not an engineer so I couldn't begin to calculate the differences in torsional strength...

Out here in CA, that is illegal. If more than 5 cars are lined-up behind you, whether you are doing the speed limit or not, you are required to pull over and let them pass. Seldome enforced, but it's the law nonetheless.
