Hollister Hills chapter run, Nov 4th

I'll be there, come hell or high water. Will have to leave by 4:00 to make it to the hockey game though.

    OEM Skid pics?

From personal experience, the TC skid is better than nothing, but I'd ditch it and get a good aftermarket one, unless you only wheel on mild trails with few rocks. As for the front skid, mine has been reinforced with 1"x1"x1/8" angle welded on horizontally, but I wish that I had also reinforced...

Give it a few more years... I don't think theres ANY part of the interior of my '92 that doesn't rattle or squeek...whether there's music playing or not! Just something to look forward to :shiver:

Oil spits out of ARB compressor

Mine does the same thing. The info that I have from researching the problem is that the o-rings on the ARB are worn. I have read experiences of some who have continued to use theirs in this condition for some time with no ill effects. For now, I think I'm just going to rig up some way to capture...

harbor freight on board air compressor

    xj 44, good deal/ idea?

An aussie locker in the rear won't be so bad for a DD. I have a lockright in mine and if you stay off the gas when turning, you probably won't even notice it except for the clicking. Otherwise, just rotate your tires often and you'll be fine.

    8.25" upgrade

Hmmm. Based on these numbers, the D35 shafts should be stronger than the 27spline 8.25. Bummer. I realize that the axle tubes are bigger in the 8.25 which will make the overall axle assembly more stout. I'm not an engineer so I couldn't begin to calculate the differences in torsional strength...

Am I going to end up like my dad?

Out here in CA, that is illegal. If more than 5 cars are lined-up behind you, whether you are doing the speed limit or not, you are required to pull over and let them pass. Seldome enforced, but it's the law nonetheless.

    GAS Prices

Don't forget that both oil and gasoline are traded on the futures markets. This can and has had an impact on gas prices. Why else do you think that prices go up well before every period of projected higher consumption (summer, holidays, etc.)? It's not just about supply and demand, but...

    8.25" upgrade

I also have the 27 spine axles, and what I'd like to know is, in reality, how much stronger will two splines make the axle. I don't care about anyones anectotal "evidence". I wanna know REAL numbers. Will two splines really be worth the money and hassle? Does anyone have any real numbers to...

    JKS swaybar disco problem

Mine came with them and they do work on XJ's as long as you have the OEM steering skid plate. They have to mount to it. Turns out mine interfered with my tires at full lock on both sides, a fact that I found out after one was bent beyond repair by a tire lug. The thing that "I" am finding about...

    Oasis compressors?

Not trying to sell these things, but you're comparing a Yugo to a Ferrari... NOTHING that Viair sells comes close to the CFM of the Oasis pumps. They are basically converted York A/C compressors with big electric motors powering them. You could do a custom bracketed York under the hood for way...

is 92 bad for my engine ????

X2 Higher octane rating means lower volatility, i.e. it's harder to ignite, therefore it is recommended for engines with higher compression ratios. This may be why you are having problems starting (fuel doesn't have enough heat/compression to ignite immediately). If your engine has alot of...
