What is the best, most reliable thermostat for our inline six motors? I want high reliability, not cheapo chinese made low bid stuff. want reliability for on the trail in Death Valley!
I know you said no china.... But both my xjs run autozone cheap ones.... One is probably 10 years old with no issues when trail riding in the high 90s with the ac blasting
Had a chepo and all it did was constantly yoyo temp up and down. Put in a stant super stat, works perfectly even delivering mail in 100 degrees with the ac running.
I have a read a lot of bad out of the box threads when it comes to thermostats.
I read where one guy went through 4 and the 5th one ended up being good.
Guys will tell you to use Mopar ones.
Then one guy says that his Mopar one was bad out of the box.
Go figure.
I put in the cheap Napa one in my '00. Been over 7 years now.
Last year I did the water pump and put on a new thermostat housing.
Bought a Stant SuperStat for the job.
Well just cause of the bad out of the box threads and the fact that the cheapo Napa one still worked made me not use it.
In "stock" for when the time comes. LOL.
