It's hard to tell just how hilariously bad this paint job is , but ...lol...It's bad . This red spray paint is the result of low I.Q. And most likely meth combined with folks not speaking the Englinsh out doing some good ol'fashioned burglaries in a stolen Jeep ... I wonder if they were dreamers ?

For reference...this is before my pals from south of the border stole the Jeep and "pimped"my ride with the best paint one can steal from advanced auto parts.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I’ll be honest. I feel bad for your Jeep getting stolen. But as far as the Mexican comments go, you can really shut the **** up already.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I understand Mike's sensitivity in this case George. Probably should just use the general term "crooks".

You keep associating these crooks with being mexican and meth use..... Mexican/Hispanic/Latino (whatever ya wanna call 'em) crooks aren't generally users of Meth. That's a white-trash drug in majority. Meth-heads generally aren't motivated enough to steal cars - too hard to make money on them. Meth-heads like stuff they can steal and pawn, or recycle quick for cash.

Given the area where it was stolen from, I'd put my gamblin' money on your crooks being of Hispanic origin, but likely grabbed the jeep as part of local gang initiation. The paint was just to add insult to injury, not to try to disguise it to keep using it. The red might actually be to mark it as having been grabbed by Bloods. Since it was recovered in Aurora..... Bloods probably dumped it with the red paint to show they trespassed in Blue/Crip territory, although I'd expect there to be some gang related graffiti on or in the jeep as well...... dunno.

Jeffco jail has nearly 1400 inmates currently and easily, 1000 of them are Hispanics. The vast majority of those are undocumenteds that got popped for driving without licenses and uninsured, or stealing tools so they can work. Quite a few are gang members and most of those are associated with MS-13 or the Cartels. You should see the cruelty those groups utilize on their "members". Facial tattoos - never seen it this bad in the past. They make sure to mark their members. Keeps them from dropping out or switching teams. These guys don't steal cars just to trash 'em and dump 'em. If they steal cars, it's high end ones that fetch good money. Otherwise, they're mostly here in connection with the illegal drug trade.

But I digress......... lol.

They are not comments the description given of the Two Men commiting burglary by a witness to the Denver police department was...Two Spanish speaking "Hispanic males"... So Michael they are not my "comments" it's just who stole the Jeep and commited the burglaries while stealing it as told to me by detective Kevin Mattens ... I mean if you don't like it I guess I can ssy it was Two two members of Isis?

They theft proofed it by taking the ignition battery fuse ...they started to install a car stereo amplifier they used it to do burglaries in which they were idtentified and they had it for over 30 days ...lol...does this sound like grab and dump . Oh they fixed yhe tail light box driver side previous to theft it had no lights ...do bloods fix cars on dump and grabs ? ... They knocked out and fixed the Two dents in the driver side front fender...lol...does this fit the mode of operation for gang bangers doing a grab and dump ...lol...if they did not paint it or steal the contents of the Jeep it would actually be in better shape than when stolen given what they fixed .

Detective Kevin Mattens stated...we started looking for this vehicle when " we received calls of it being driven by Two "Hispanic Males"" in the commission of burglaries. Detective Kevin Matens said the plate called in was fictitious and did not match the vehicles description so he looked for stolen vehicles matching it and it matched my Jeep so they started looking for a Red Jeep Cherokee and they found it abandoned with the fictitious tags on it...

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Started the removal of the ghetto fabulous paint job ...lol...I found the top to the can of paint they used it was Rustoleum not krylon ( 5 finger discount from Wal-Mart ?). I started with lacquer thinner and a rag it took two cans of thinner to clean the driver fender off ...lol...which considering the fenders are not perfect I Could have just bought new ones painted them and tossed these ,but they did come 100% clean ...the driver door I decided to wet sand the Rustoleum down to just where the darker factory red could just barely be seen then wipe from there I also made use of the 5 year old gas in my old not used generator as I used that instead of more lacquer thinner the bulk of the passenger door took 20 minutes to clean but they must have shot a ton of layers attempting to cover the adhesive they left behind from the cherokee badges they removed and this took awhile to remove without damaging the paint under the crap then I started the driver rear corner fender and hatch with wet sanding the bulk off them , but I don't have any grit lower than 180 and they shot less paint on these sections so I stopped there and went to work on the trail rig for a couple hours and called it a day ...next week I'll have some 1000-2000 to work on the lighter areas when it's all off any mild clear coat scuffs will be made short work of with McGuires heavy compound by hand ...lol...going to park this proudly on display at the yard with a notation mocking the thieves.

All work done outside with no shade from the Sun...lol

Re: The Colorado BS thread

One thing I've noticed playing around with cycling the struts vs the coils set up is that near unloading or unloaded I could easily push and steer the tires by hand as well as grab the lugs of the dropped tire and pull it around...lol...not now as long as the tire is on the ground the constant force on the dropped tire by the strut makes the previous undoable, which means the new set up should produce a lot more traction than the previous it also has virtually zero sway.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Toluene will remove the paint quicker. Just remember to use gloves.

Will grab some for next weekend . The wet sanding really does speed things up removing most of the thickness first with a few strokes of the sand paper. I Always wear gloves working with BTEX I only have one liver

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Managed to score 5 TJ Moabs from the denver upullnpay, also found an XJ freedom and grabbed two UltraStar wheels from it to add to the pile. I think I nearly 25 Ultrastar wheels now.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Started hacking the old mounts off the 60. Forgot what a crappy job that is. The sway bar bracket on the driver side is a total pain. And then the thought of grinding the rest at 930pm seemed pretty unappealing. Staring at it with a beer was a much better idea.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Anyone here in the springs get hit with the hail the other night? Reports of 3in dia hail. The guy I work with had his house pummeled by it. Holes thru his roof. His cars are destroyed. Some of his neighbors got hail through their drywall. I got a few small pieces at my house at about 1 am. Solid chunks of ice pretty much.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

We had about 20 1” stones, and nothin else. Sounded like a drive by.

Luckily my stuff was in the garage and got wood paneling on my house. Everyone of my soldiers vehicles got destroyed though. First year I've been in Colorado that I haven't lost a vehicle to hail. I have pictures of softball size hail though.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Lol...got One to many vehicles taking up space with the unexpected return of Little boy and the purchase of the Commander, So after Little boy is cleaned up the Jeep will be sold . In the process of the spray paint removal I'm going to re paint the parts that were faded like the fender flares and paint match the bumpers that were faded grayish black . I still have an old set if rocker guards from the big Jeep I think I'm going to paint and install just to get rid of them . The Jeep has about same miles as when bought from DJ and the luckily the my thieves were using it for their transportation and it runs as it Did the day I parked it , So it should sell reasonably fast . I'd love to keep it as my daily as it's worry free for hail season but my storage lot is full of trailers and vehicles .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Driver side is about 90% clean the remaining bit around the fender flare edges will be got when I pull the flares to paint them . I ordered all new badges to replace the ones they either stripped off or covered with paint. Should have the exterior done over the next couple weekends and then move to interior fiasco , which I'm not sure I can remove the paint from the dash I will see how it goes buy may just go to the yard and grab new/used stuff I also need to remove the over spray on the carpet from the dash paint job . I need to ordered a new wheel lock cylinder would like to find a matched door lock and ignition cylinder so the keys match . Need to grab a full size spare as well from the pick n pull to replace to missing one . I figure it will be all done and cleaned up better than when I bought it in about 4 weeks and then unloaded so storage lot doesn't look like a used car lot anymore .
