Torque Android app vs. Temp gauge

My torque app reads engine temp 20* or more warmer than my temp gauge. But only after it gets to 210* . Before that they march.

Any if you running this app noticed any descrepencies?

Torque gets it's Temp reading from the PCM (in fact that's where it gets all it data from) so if it's reading 20 over so is your computer, or your guage is reading outside the prime range and becomes less acurate as a result. what guage are you comparing it to, I hope it's not the stock one.

Yeah, actually it is the stock one...

Otherwise commonly known as one of, if not the, most inacurate guage ever produced, and now you know why.

Trust the reading Torque pulls from your pcm, your engine does ... the stock guage is just there to give you something to look at while stuck in traffic.

The PCM drives the gauge. I have Torque installed on an old Droid, and both my ScanGauge and Torque show somewhere between 202-206 when the gauge is indicating 210.

Test the CTS, verify temps with another thermometer. 20 strikes me as a little too far off in this case.
