Large, open area with scattered timber and rock outcrops. North Fork Mokelumne River nearby. Campsites are available in lower Hermit Valley as well as at the upper (NE) end of Hermit Valley, at Grouse Flat. Near Mosquito Lake.

Current Conditions:Calaveras Ranger District - Open. Closest Towns:Gas, groceries and camping supplies available in Bear Valley, Lake Alpine and Markleeville. Water:noneRestroom:VaultOperated By:Forest Service

Bring the water you need. There is a small store near camp if you need to replenish but it will cost you $$$. There are toilets at the campsite, they smell about as bad as Knucklehead_61 but they get the job done.

Yes they do, I was down wind from Tim last year. It got hot & then is just stunk. assgas:I will sit up hill from Tim this year..
