It is a 1981 Honda CT110. It is an on-off bike and has dual range gears. I ride it to the trails by the beach and he takes it from there while I try to follow him on a mountain bike.

I would love to have one this year. This is the site I frequent the most, coz most of the bikes they post appeal to me:

Enjoy

Hmmmmmmmmmm....

We got a rusty CT90 waiting to be rebuilt. Maybe I should just sell it, I dont like getting into moneypits. We had good luck with the CT110 tho...

The bike I want is going to be some form of a streettracker. I am definitely going to build it myself. I"ll be using these two bikes as rough guides:

That looks like a fun machine Sam.

Euro-Spec '02 Monster 900ie, brought her back to the US in '08 when we moved back, sold it to some local squid as his first bike, no doubt she is in a junkyard somewhere. She was one of 50 that was made in blue that year, none of which were sold on the US market.

Current thumper

'08 WR250x
MUCH slower than the Duc, but more fun on crappy American roadways!

My MTB, immeasurably slower than the Yamaha, more so when I am at the controls. Started from a frame and built it up.

That thing is effin beautiful. You had to have one hell of an offer for it if you were willing to sell it as someone's first bike! I could never let that thing go if I were you

It was painful to see her go, but it was time. She was not well suited for the mid-west, or maybe I was spoiled by the tangled mess of mountain passes that is the Japanese road map. No place in the mid-west had decent twisties that exhumed confidence enough to hang off the bike in a corner. The drivers suck bad, and she went through gas like you wouldn't believe. At first I was getting obscene low offers, but alas I got my asking price which was $2k more than I paid in '05.

Seeing how uncomfortable he looked on her was a bit frightening.

...but the wad of cash in my hand made it worth the pain.

Corpin, Where did you get that Yamaha? That looks identical to my buddy's old bike.

And you let a squid ride away on that thing not even wearing a helmet?

Bought the WR from a local who got it for his GF who hated riding. That pic has new bars, mirrors, and fender. it was all stock when I brought it home.

He was only a permit rider, which means he was required to have a helmet, I told him I wouldn't let him ride it off my property without one. He borrowed his friend's, rode down my driveway, stopped by his friends car (just to the right of the shot), tossed the lid into the car, and rode away. For some reason people around here mock others for wearing lids. I get some funky looks by the squids in shorts and flip-flops on sport bikes, when I am on a Sumo with full gear. Oh well.. its their life.

bare minimum for me is boots, helmet and gloves. and if it isnt a billiondy degrees out i have on my heavy carrhart

too many morons out there who care about updating thier facebook status more than driving.

Ah, certainly not the same people then. His was modified when he sold it.

Well, at least you tried... Darwin might win against that guy.

I always wear that and at least a mesh padded jacket and a pair of leather reinforced denim jeans, if not my riding pants.

Seriously.

After being out of state for 9 months, finally got to pick my baby up and get some riding in over the weekend. Took her on a cruise down the freeway and into South Beach. Hooray for Spring Break starting.

This is fuel injected, right?
How do you like it?
I was going to get one for some dual sport usage up here in British Columbia.

Yes it's fuel injected, and it's fun. Nothing like the abusive power of the Duc, but it does get up and go quite well. I am getting about 75mpg mostly city when I do my part, but still accelerating away from cars. It feels like it is not even under you, which is nice for pot-hole dodging and tossing it around on the back roads. When carrying excess weight, it does show its lack of displacement, but the EFI makes it very ridable. It is MUCH less buzzy at 70mph than my friends DRZ-400, and is about even in a 0-60 pull. (stock for stock) I don't know how the motor will do at altitude, as the midwest is about as flat as you can get. If you are planning on using it as a cross bike, I would lean towards the WR250R which is the same bike with more dirt friendly wheels and tires, although there are a ton of guys that either have a second set of wheels, or a set of knobies for their 16's.

You are living in the wrong part of the US. Here the roads are nice and smooth. Granted here in Texas the elevation doesnt change much. But you can find some roads that have some good turns and elevation, few however.

I got to ride this weekend for the first time this year. I felt like a squid cause it's been so long lol

Here in Texas, when its 95+ degrees, i were gloves and a helmet, with my tshirt and shorts. I know that im risking it. I usually ride with my jacket, jeans, gloves, and helmet. I ALWAYS wear a helmet.
