I have a 1999 XJ up here in Yellowknife that I am in the process of building up....mine is only going to go with the 31's and 3.5" lift (have yet to decide which ones)
I plan on wheeling it in the NWT and Alberta, so I may see ya on the trails next year!
I'm not too worried about the flares breaking off, I reinforced all the bolts, but if they do its an easy fix. I recently fixed a buddys flare for him that got knock of an ran over by 7 other jeeps. I glassed in some metal strips and welded the bolts to them, so if mine break thats what i'll do.
Yes thats tin foil tape, it was temporary until the silicone set up
Finally had time to work on the heep after repairing the garage door for the 4th time this month. First the motor went, then the cable snapped, followed by the spring breaking.
Time to finally started on the front bumper that should have been done months ago!
Had a little fun with the sawsall and now I have a huge hole!
I wanted my winch to be tucked away so I wouldn't lose any approach angle, so I drew up a winch cradle to go where my front crossmember use to be.
I had to clock my XRC-8 comp series winch so I could get at the handle
First step was to undo the bolts holding the connecting rods in place
Once you pull the clutch assembly off theres 12 allen head bolts you need to unscrew. You cant see it in the pictures, the clutch assembly is stamped T-max right by one of the bolt holes
