Rocktober-Fest 2010!!!

Would love to have all of you guys join us at the Crawl for the Cure. Trying to figure some stuff out with Andy and the club and see what we can come up with.
Our typical agenda is wheel from 9:30 till 4pm, than have dinner and our raffle at approx 5pm. Trying to figure out how we can include you guys as well, the problem is both groups serve dinner!

The cost for the C4C is $25 plus the usual RC fees, the $25 includes a built in donation, $$$ towards a bunch of raffle tickets and dinner for a Jeep with 4 passengers.

Open for suggestions on how we can include Roctober Fest participants with the C4C participants.

As suspected, I will be all in for both events, and plan on an early start to camping...I've been a guide for the C4TC for the past couple of years and plan on keeping that tradition alive as well. Forgive my silence lately, I just got back from a relaxing week in the Thousand Islands (camping, fishing, and yes, I even took the Green Claptrap, although we only used it for touring). PM me if anyone needs help for the weekend...the Boss and I will be there.

I don't know about everyone else but I would be down for having the Rocktoberfest shindig on friday night and then we could all join the C4C on sat. Its a win win we get to eat twice and do both events, yeah it is more money but with the 2 combined where are you going to get to eat 2 nice dinners have lots of "drinks" and get a raffle or "possibly" 2 for 45 bucks? just my 2 cents figured I would throw it out there.

Good idea, this is probably the best thing to do.....

Is everyone good with moving the Rocktober-Fest meal to Friday night??

I dont like that idea, people gots to work & I would think a good bit of people would be coming for the saturday thing as usual. Im also tight on funds, so "its just a little more money" isnt so much that to me, costs enought just to get the jeep up there and back in one piece, I dont care what the event is called for saturday, it can be Roctobercure.

Would it be possible to allow people to pay for one or the other ... or both? That would allow a lot of flexibility in terms of when people come, how much they want to spend etc etc etc

This sounds familiar :roflmao:

Hopefully I won't be in Fort Collins for a new prototype power-up or something then. Consider me there, unless work prevails.

And hopefully I'll have a set-o-ramps built and the 5ton ready to roll. The 96 is dooooooooomed.
Got materials for ramps today. Welding them tonight/thursday/this weekend probably. Anyone near central mass got a decent chop-saw that can handle 1.5x3/16" angle with ease? I have a LOT to cut :wow:

It'll take me about 6 hours to drive down, what time are people planning on showing up Friday? If I take the day off and start early and don't break down I will likely be there around noon.

I had thought about suggesting that, but I didn't want to throw that out there since this is a large event for you guys, and didn't know how much planning and such had already been done. If you can move your catering to Friday night, than that would work fine on our end. Actually if you wanted to have C4C attendees at your BBQ for a price on Friday night that could always we throw out there as well, totally up to you guys.

If there are members here that don't wish to participate in our C4C event on Saturday than you could just go into the park in your own groups.

Let me know what you all think, we have a club meeting Wednesday night, I'd like to bring this up in discussion. Andy your also welcome to attend if you want to be part of the conversation, the meeting is at Lucas Jeep in Mt Holly NJ, probably about 1.5 from you or less.

[Edit] Let me add something here......On Saturday for the C4C you guys can still have your own groups, own guides, etc.. In the past we have done something similar with other groups that wish to be on their own but still be part of the "charity" event, and take place in the raffle and enjoy the dinner.

How's that all sound?

If I make it, and it is looking good. I would love the C4C and think Bill had the best thought. Just my 2 cents.

I'm all for splitting the dinner menus, I'm planning on running both. And yes, as I'm hearing it, Jamie, all will be welcome to attend for a small fee to our dinner on Fri. nite at the TwinGrove campground. Would be a good time for NJJA members to see the grounds if they've never been there before, and they are top-notch. The only hitch being is that Naxja would need a fair count of the number of people willing to swing by and join the dinner.

I am good with this. We are fine with the NJJA folks coming over to hang with us on Friday night. As Rich mentioned though, we would need a headcount so we're covered with food. I won't be able to make your NJJA club meeting tomorrow. Thanks for the invite to the meeting, but I have business in Md tomorrow, and won't be getting home early enough to make it to NJ at a reasonable hour.

I was signed on over on NJJA at one time, but its been a few years since I have visited. I'll have to find sign back in again and extend the welcome to our little October-Fest meal at the CG Friday night.

for those that aren't going to make it up friday for the Rocktoberfest "picnic" we could always get more "drinks" for saturday after the C4C event. and party again.:gee:

I hope that I can atleast make it on Saturday. I'm waiting for yet another engine, and getting the run around with the warranty. It turned out to just be the oil pressure sensor at NAC-Fest. That was the good news... The bad news is that I spun a bearing on the way home from Bloomsburg. Maybe I should've just put out the money for a reman instead of a junkyard engine. :banghead:

OK so it looks like people will be wheelin' several days, and there seems to be a lot of back and forth going on.

Are more people going to be wheeling on Friday or Sunday?

Reason I ask is I have two options:
1) Take 1/2 day off Thursday and drive down, wheel Friday and Saturday and drive home Sunday.
2) Take 1/2 day Friday and drive down, wheel Saturday and Sunday and drive home Monday.

Either way I'm taking 1 1/2 days off work, but I'd like to get the most wheeling out of it. Post up quick, I need to chose soon. :D

So this was presented at the NJJA meeting the other night, and it seams like it should work out. All they ask is that you get your registration forms sent in ASAP so they can plan the food accordingly. Also on the form mark that your with NAXJA so they know that you guys are all together on the trail and that you don't need to be put in a NJJA trail group, unless of course you want to!

Crawl for the Cure info is here:
http://www.njjeep.org/crawlforthecure

I will also put a post on NJJA for anyone interested in coming to the NAXJA BBQ on Friday night. (Andy please let me know the cost)

Looks like I'm going up Thursday night, wheel with you guys on Friday, and do the Crawl on Saturday.
