JV night run. Sat June 13th.

So here is the story with a few pictures.
My buddy Logan and I arrive to the lakebed and meet another one of the guys who is wheeling with Matty and I. We wait a little while and Matt shows up with the new rig and the motor home. He gets stuck in the motor home. After a little bit we get him squared away and camped on the lakebed. Logan and I drool over Matt's new rig. Head out to Sledge with Matt on 42's, Buck on 39's, Al on 37's and me on 33's. Do pretty well through sledge, make the plaque waterfall first try

but then ran into some trouble between the plaque waterfall and the next waterfall that is a right hander. Matt tries to drive over my jeep to head back to camp to check on his girls:

Obviously that did not work out so I got unstuck via high-lift and a little winching via Buck and was able to move for Matt to get by. Made it from this waterfall to the mailbox unassisted and I believe I only backed up 3 times.

Poser shot at the mailbox:

We then ran the remainder of the trail to the first sand hill. Logan and I were talking about the trail and I was not paying full attention to the off camber bi-pass, where I got light on my side and went over, ending up on Logan's side ( I dont have any pictures yet of what the jeep looked like after the carnage). Put the jeep back on it's lid, made sure it was not hydro locked and drove it back to camp. Got the sawzall out and cut off the passenger rear door and rear of the jeep because I liked the look of Rick's jeep:) I also hi-lifted the passenger's side roof about a foot up so Logan could ride shotgun:

These pictures are of Sunday, but we actually did the work Saturday night. After getting the windshield kicked out by some rock brawler, we drove to Resolution where Matt drove it like a champ. Sunday morning we went to backdoor for Matt to see if his new buggy would climb it. After a few attempts he crawled it (because his buggy was cutting out after 2500 rpm or so). After Matt made backdoor, him and Logan peer pressured me to try the gatekeeper to backdoor:

Overall I had a blast. Logan and I were able to walk away with no injuries and I am really thankful. The bummer was I was telling everyone this was my last trip as I was going to tear my jeep apart and put a cage in after this trip. Other than the damage I lost my bfg baja spare and was not able to find it. Had a blast and after I track down a new roof and fuel tank I plan to be back out hopefully before Goatfest!

Damn Parker.....wow...looks like you had a blast! You gotta appreciate a guy who is not afraid to wheel his junk!!! Right on man.

Parker never backs down from a challenge. Matty and I have gotten his butt into some nasty spots before, and he justs does it!

By the way Parker, that is one of the sexiet Cherokee's I have ever seen, ever nicer than AzRick's!

So, Matty, what were your impressions of the new rig?

Wow. Thats the best way to describe it. I really had my eyes opened to what is capable in a rig like that. Im definately looking forward to going wheeling with you experienced buggy guys!
I just found myself looking at lines that i hadnt even noticed before and trying them with sucess. I really couldnt get the grin off my face :D

Overall im really happy with the new rig. Its got a few little issues i need to sort out and few things i'l be changing but basically its good!

I didnt really get too many pics wheeling as i was driving solo, but here a few and a short vid from backdoor this morning.

I appreciate the props Matty, but I was really trying to get minimal to no body damage to show I actually knew how to drive :D

Hope to be out wheeling with you soon. Thanks again for letting me run with you.

Well....YEAH....that was the point!

I watched you bounce off every rock on wrecking ball one time when your rig used to look good. That run was the end of that..
