My home brew bumper...
The middle section with the tabs that go through is 1/4" (3x6) wall box tube, the angle on the ends are 5/16" (3x6)

When I get the funds together, I am going to chop the middle section out and install a real low winch cradle that does not block much of the rad. I am also thinking about adding some "cut outs" on the corners for a hi-lift lifting point that will "straddle" the jack making it less prone to slipping and killing me :gee:

yes I still need to chop the skirt out from underneath HAHA! I am going to wait till it's done snowing, to prolong the onset of RUST!

This one a friend of mine and I did 4 or so years ago. Its 2x6 square tube(forget thickness now). The D-ring mounts are 3/4" plate and go all the way back for the mounting points. Later we added a small tab to pick up the steering box bolts on the bottom. If this thing comes off it will have pieces of jeep attached to it :D.

Some crappy pics of the mounting, don't worry I have since resolved the crappy sway bar angles. Thats what happens when you forget to subract your sway bar drop brackets from your lift hiehgt when ordering discos :). Thankfully I traded with another member that needed longer ones.

Thought I'd add mine to this thread.

Current state of the new winch bar, should be finished up this weekend. Lots of welding, cutting and grinding to go yet but the basic shape is there.

I don't know if this counts. It started life as a kit, which I welded up and then modified. If it doesn't count, then you can delete my post.

Question for those of you who have built your own rears with a tire carrier. What type of hinge/spindle do you use that will support the weight of at least a 33??

wow, I know it's hard to mount that warn winch... but make it stick out a bit farther?
other than that it looks pretty sweet!

I know this may be a really dumb questioned and i'll be flamed, but anywho.. do you guys with winches tucked into the bumper (so you don't have access to the top of the winch) have any access trouble if say, the line kinked and you had to mess with the spool, or anything else on the winch? And by the way, awesome bumpers!!!
