Painting the trim
Has anyone painted the trim on a pre-97 XJ. I know the best paint to use would be one with a plastic base, buy has anyone tried any specific brands, retailers, or techniques? I know prep work is going to be important, but what is the best method for doing it?

Is the trim shiny right now?
If so you're going to want to rough it up.

Yeah, the trim is the shiny gold color common on the country editions.

Sand it up a little, and wipe it down with some acetone or M.E.K. Another product is something called E.S.P(Easy surface prep) You wipe it on and let it dry and it helps the paint adhere to almost anything. You can pick it up at most pro-painter type stores
