Bumpers and Air Bags?

If I were to replace the stock bumpers with, say, JCR ones...would that effect the airbag sensors? And if it does, will they work or do they get deactivated?

Air bag sensor is not connected to bumper. In newer xj's it is under seat.


Big bumper, little bumper no bumper makes no difference.

So have at it.

The computer is probably under the back of the center consol. The bumpers in no way affect your air bags. They still should go off with impacts over 15 mph.

if you still have the sensor under the seat you might want to check into recalls. i had mine recalled they wanted it moved from under the seat.
