axles

hey guys, ive been on this site for a little while now and am new to xj's. if someone could please tell me a little about the axles i would appreciate it. like the difference between a hp-d30 axle and an lp-d30 axle and so on, what are good for front and rear.. i know that the d44's are supposed to be the best. so if someone could please help me out i would appreciate it!
